The Shield Initiative
Historical framework, retired. This archive preserves the earlier public-facing concept for transparency. The active model is now the Family Protection Pilot.
Original public concept
The earlier Shield Initiative proposed using concentrated life insurance policies to create pressure on the insurance industry. That mechanism is no longer the active model.
The active framework is now a community-owned trust layer that organizes donor-funded, family-owned life insurance access. Families pay nothing. Parents own the policies. Parents are the sole beneficiaries. The fund never owns, touches, or benefits from any death benefit.
Why it changed
Actuarial review showed that firearm mortality is already priced into life insurance premiums. Because expected claims are priced before policies are issued, the earlier leverage thesis was retired.
